Why does’t the UK government promote the military as a career in the recession?
June 26th, 2010 by
Think about it, if they did this the UK would have less of a problem recruiting soldiers when we had millions of people wanting to join right? Also it would help the unemployment rate would’nt it, plus they’d only pay a bit more in military wages for someone than they’d pay in benefits.
What do you all think?

Historically governments do just that – and usually they like to send the poor sods off to get killed too.
Because guns are hurty things and New Labour doesn’t approve of them.
There wouldn’t be millions of people wanting to join and it really wouldn’t be of benefit to the economy, the only thing it would do would be to enable the government to pat itself on the back with respect to reducing the number of unemployed.
The military here in the states doesnt have to.They are going to reach their quota by june in all branches.
they already have a massive recruitment drive inprogress. just go to any city in the north of england at the moment. they’re pulling soldiers off the front line and sending them home to help with recruitment.
it’s very sad.
Why not? The Taliban are doing their bit to keep the UK dole queues down.
Maybe we should take a less biased approach and lay on transport for any more “British” muslims who fancy some interesting work abroad.
where have you been the radio has been playing adverts promoting it
